The mill is well documented with all manuals, drawings etc available. The mill voltage is mostly 440v
3 phase and 50 cycles
PAPER MACHINE
Paper produced is cigarette tissue, grammage 14 to 35 gsm, design basis weight is 25 gsm, deckle at
the reel is 3100mm, speed 300 to 400 m/min, machine design speed 450m/min, balance speed on
machine 500m/min, porosity 100sec/100ml, gross production 45 t/day based on 25gsm at 400m/min.
Basement design. Major rebuild year 2000 with many new parts installed. Centres 5954mm.
QCS system by Precision express and Honeywell MXOPEN system. Paper dryness at reel 97%.
Drive is at right hand side from the flowbox.
STOCK PREPARATION
Two Black Clawson pulpers: stainless steel, gear box drives, 10 ft diameter, low consistency, each
with inclined pulp conveyors.
Stainless stock storage tanks with side entry agitators.
HWD chest, HWD ring main chest, SWD chest, SWD refined chest, Blend chest, Broke chest,
deflaker broke chest.

HWD and SWD systems each have two Beloit 3000 series refiners on the HW and SW lines. Each
refiner has 30” diameter discs.

Machine pressure screen is a Lamort SPN8 in stainless steel. LD cleaners are Voith manufacture in
three stages. Polyethylene bodies with ceramic nozzles.

WET END FORMING SECTION
Flowbox consistency 0.6% ,wire width 3760mm, slice width 3606mm, sheet width on wire 3655mm,
sheet width at couch 3333mm and sheet width at reel 3100mm Flowbox with manual slice control 3606mm slice, designed flow 3439 to 8967 l/min,
consistency 0.55 to 0.60 %, operating at 300/400 m/min., stock temperature 50 deg. C.
 
Wire section is cantilevered wet end, stainless, breast roll to couch roll centers 14 m.
Forming board, five foils, two vacuum foil units. Dandy roll with cover, air lift system,eight      vacuum boxes. Suction couch with a forward drive roll. Auto wire guide. Tail cutter.
PRESS SECTIONS
First Press: with suction pick up.
Second Press: plain with pneumatic loading.
Third Press: with top kuster roll and marking roll at bottom position.
Fourth Press : marking press with engraved rolls.
DRYING SECTION
Diameters 1500mm, face 3886mm with one inch sheathen rope groove.
Operating pressure: 75 psi. Bolted ends. Pocket ventilation, some with oscillating doctors.
Central lubrication system. Slalom felted.
Section one: 4 dryers. Section two: 4 dryers. Section three: 5 dryers with gear drives.

The After Dryer, After Dryer rolls and Drum Reel Up have independent electrical sectional
drives. This equipment was installed as part of a rebuild in the year 2000.
The Wire Section, Press Section and Pre-Dryer Sections are all sectionalized but are Line
shaft driven (Beloit Line shaft, gears and mechanical in - drive sections). This is a modern
Line shaft system for these sections with individual speed adjustment to each section on the
Line shaft.

REWINDER
Goebel model U15, 3500 year 1969, shaft unwind with Witchata drum brake and brake
generator. Drive is r/hand from shaft type unwind, 4 slitters manual set, shaftless rewind for
1250mm diameter. Auto tension control, reel ejector and lowering table.
 
Hydraulic operation on rider roll and the roll eject system.
The rewinder has two balers for trim collection and baling. One baler painted green with
cyclone and auto wire tying and other HSM baler with manual wire tying.
BASEMENT
The basement has stock pumps, white water pit, vacuum pumps, felt dryers, felt stretchers and
some guides, felt cleaning, pressure screen, cleaner pumps and under machine broke pulper.
