CARCANO now Metzo-paper Foudrinier Paper Machine for the production of papers and boards, made both of virgin pulp and of recycled fibers. Production includes colored paperboard (like manila board, cover board and file folder grades) and packaging papers. Production: 55 Tons/Day. Basis Weights: from 60 GSM to 400 GSM. Moving speed is automatically regulated by electronic control system. Stock Preparation: this department, whose project has been created and implemented by VOITH, consists of 3 lines to work with raw materials, wood pulp and cellulose. The cycle is managed via a PLC ALLEN BRADLEY by flow-meters, by pressure, level and consistency controllers (CIC Consistency indicator controls, LIC level indicator control PIC pressure indicator control). There is a Voith heat system to eliminate glues and various impurities from raw materials and shred the fibers. STEAM PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT: Steam for paper production is generated from 2 CCT-Caldareria / Carpenteria Ticinese type Boilers with 3500 Kg/h of steam potential at 15 BAR pressure. A system for reduction of steam pressure has been installed with aut. regulation of steam pressure to send steam by two different lines: 1 - to the drying cylinders 2 - to MG cylinder. There is the possibility to automatically differentiate the pressure of the higher drying cylinders versus the lower cylinders for the proper monitoring of paper uniformity. STEAM MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND CONDENSATION RECOVERY: It is a system LANG created, to recover condensation coming from drying cylinders to reduce energy costs, including tanks for the recovery of condensation water and vacuum pumps with condensations exchangers. AERO-THERMAL SYSTEM FOR CONDENSATION EXTRACTION AND PM DEPARTMENT CLIMATE CONTROL: A Brunnschweiler type aero-thermal system has been installed to recover condensation steam to the aim of dehumidifing PM department and conditioning felts. The system is equipped with: 2 Axial Fans for the Moisture extraction, 2 Axial Fans for room air climate control, 2 Axial Fans for room air aspiration, 1 Centrifugal Drying Fan for incoming air flow of 30.000 m3/hour, 1 Centrifugal Fan for Moisture extraction from one-side calender flow of 15000 m3/hour, 4 Axial Fans for heating of one-side calander chimney, 5 Axial Fans for PM room ventilation, 1 Centrifugal Fan for motors cooling. COMPRESSED AIR PRODUCTION SYSTEM - Including: 2 Pneumofore Compressors for every need of the plant, 1 Pneumofore dryer with automatic air filtering system to eliminate humidity from the air, 2 dryer filters to separate oil from the air. Electrical equipment: it is equipped with one power room station receiving electric power at 15 KV voltage. There are two transformers 15000 / 380 – 220 Volts (15000 KVA each). There are various electricity substations for distribution to the different departments and machinery. Discharge Water Treatment consisting of : HOMOGENIZING CHEST (150 M3) where water is mixed via Flight type mixers, CHEMICAL-PHYSICAL TREATMENT where, by dosing pumps, under PLC management system, various chemical reactors are supplied to the discharge water in order to flocculate the fibers; PRIMARY SEDIMENTATION SYSTEM (150 M3) It’s a tank with rotating bridge gathering sludge at the bottom of the tank. A Netsch mono pump will send sludge to be recovered as raw material. BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT STATION (100 M3) equipped with 2 Rotating disks for elimination of organic pollution. SECONDARY SEDIMENTATION SYSTEM (300 M3) It’s another tank with rotating bridge gathering sludge at the bottom of the tank. Another Netsch mono pump will send sludge to the sludge thickening press. SLUDGE THICKENING PRESS TYPE ECOMACCHINE The sludge coming from the secondary sedimentation vat is pressed to arise density from 0,5/1 % to about 30 %. Many mechanical spares are available.
